Description
Sennosides, the active ingredients of Senna tablets, belong to a group of medicines called laxatives. They act by stimulating the activity of intestinal walls particularly the large intestine.
Senna is indicated for the relief of occasional constipation.
Directions
Adults only: take 2 - 4 tablets daily.
Not to be given to children except on medical advice.
The tablets should be taken orally, at night.
Advice
Senna is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product. Also, it should not be given to patients with symptoms of appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, including ulcerative colitisi, or abdominal pain of unknown origin. If symptoms persists, contact your doctor.
Senna should not be used for prolonged periods. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactose deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
