3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film Spray 28ml

Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film is a liquid intended for use as a film-forming product, that upon application to intact or damaged skin forms a long lasting waterproof barrier, which acts as a protective interface between the skin and bodily wastes, fluids, adhesive products, and friction and shear. It is intended as a primary barrrier againts irritation from body fluids. The product may be used on adults, children, and infants over one month of age.

- Uniform film when applied to the skin.
- Dispersed in a unique non-cytotoxic, non-stinging solvent which dries rapidly.
- Helps to protect intact or damaged skin from irritation caused by urine and/or fecal incontinence, wound drainage, adhesive, friction and shear.
- The film is colourless, transparent, and possesses good oxygen and moisture vapor permeability.

Directions
1. Skin should be clean and dry prior to application of Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film
2. Hold spray nozzle 10-15 cm from skin and apply a smooth, unifirm coating of film over the entire area of concern.
3. Allow to dry (about 30 seconds). A second layer may be applied if required.
4. When used under adhesive tapes, dressings or devices:
    - allow the film to thoroughly dry before covering with dressngs or adhesive products.
    - reapplication of barrier film is neccesary each time dressing and/ or adhesive products are changed.
    - the barrier film is removed by the adhesive.
5. When used a protectant against body fluids, feces, or urine etc and no adhesive products are applied to skin
    - repplication of barrier film is recommended every 24-72 hours, depending on frequency of cleaning.
    - in some cases, more frequent application may be necessary.
6. If required, the fim can be removed by using a medical adhesive remover as directed.
7. Replace cap over spray nozzle when not in use to prevent accidental dispensing.

Ingredients
Hexamethyldisiloxane, isooctane, acrylate terpolymer, polyphenylmethylsiloxane copolymer

Cautionary Instructions
Precautions:
1. Should redness or other signs of irritation appear, or if redness or signs of irritation persist, consult a physician.
2. Avoid contact with the eye
3. Use of other barrier products, ointments, creams or lotions may significantly reduce its effectiveness.

Contraindication:
Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film is not to be used -
1. As the only covering in situations that require dressing protection from bacterial contaminations/ penetration (eg. Intravenous therapy catheter sites and full or partial thickness wounds).
2. On infected areas of the skin

Warnings: Highly flammable. Allow the product to dry for a minimum of 90 seconds before using any device that could provide source of heat or ignition. This allows fluid to dry and vapors to dissipate. Do not use near fire or flame, heat, sparks and sourced of static discharge.
